Tamara Soldan is a singer, musician, and sound artist who explores sound as a means of introspection and collective dialogue. Her research focuses on the use of archaic chants, such as medieval and Gregorian, deconstructed and interwoven with natural and urban soundscapes and collections of audio testimonies, to investigate the relationship between voice, identity, and environment.
Her aim is to open a direct, strong, and authentic dialogue with people, letting music unfold its wings and reconnect with the deeper and more intimate vibrations typical of archaic, pulse-free music—vibrations that touch individuality, bring it back into contact with itself, and reposition it within a new collective dimension.
Hui-Chun Lin is a cellist with a strong focus on improvised music and the performing arts. Her main interest lies in chamber improvisation, where she collaborates regularly with musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her musical language spans a wide range, including free improvisation, Echtzeitmusik, contemporary music, world music, experimental and noise music.
Hui-Chun’s compositional work is designed for improvising musicians, allowing the music to emerge organically during performance. Her pieces often draw inspiration from nature and scientific or biological themes—such as Indie Tiefe (2025), Giant Squid (2021) and Archipelago (2022). She explores graphic scores and other creative approaches to support improvisation.
She is an active member of various ensembles, including Ensemble Discoveries (a quintet), Hunter Underwater (a cello quartet), and Fat Cat and Drunk Mouse (a cello/piano duo). Hui-Chun is frequently invited to participate in interdisciplinary projects that combine contemporary music, multimedia, experimental sound, and dance.
